Hi guys!
I’m going to tell you something about the festival of Castellón, “Las fiestas de la Magdalena.”  This festival has passed, but we had a lot of exams and we couldn’t write before.
The festivities take place on the third Saturday of Lent; this year they started on second of March and ended on tenth of the same month. These festivities have as a reason the commemoration of the origins of the city, and moving it from the hill of the Magdalena to the flat in 1251.
In 2010 they have considered of international tourist interest.
During this week you can do different activities, and also you can see a lot of parades with music and animation.
I think the more representative day is the first Sunday because the “castelloneros” (people who live in Castellón) walk from the city center to the top of the hill. This procession is called “la romería” and they do it wearing the typical shirt, and one reed in their hands.  When they arrived at the top, they eat a typical foot called “ximos”; also lupines, peanuts and dried sausages. It’s typical to buy a small cupcake with a hole in the middle called “rollo”. At mid-afternoon they return to the city.
